# Infoconex AI Flywheel Specification License

Copyright (c) 2026 Infoconex. All rights reserved except as expressly granted by this license.

This license applies to the Infoconex AI Flywheel Specification, including its normative requirements, definitions, principles, lifecycle, conformance requirements, explanatory text, diagrams, and other documentation identified as part of the specification (the "Specification").

## 1. Purpose

The purpose of this license is to permit broad implementation of the specification while preserving a single authoritative definition of the Infoconex AI Flywheel and preventing modified or derivative specifications from being presented as official, approved, or equivalent versions of the Infoconex AI Flywheel Specification.

## 2. Ownership

The Specification and all copyrightable material contained in it are owned by Infoconex unless another ownership notice is expressly provided.

No ownership right is transferred by this license. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

## 3. Permission to Implement

Subject to this license, you may implement the requirements, processes, and practices described by the specification for any purpose, including internal, public, noncommercial, and commercial purposes.

An implementation may include software, operating procedures, services, organizational processes, supporting documentation, training material, and other resources needed to apply the unmodified Specification.

Permission to implement the specification does not grant permission to publish a modified or derivative specification or to use the Infoconex AI Flywheel name or marks except as expressly permitted by this license and the applicable trademark policy.

## 4. Verbatim Copies

You may reproduce and distribute complete, unmodified copies of an official version of the specification, in any medium and without fee or royalty, provided that each copy:

1. Includes this license and all copyright, attribution, version, status, and source notices.
2. Clearly identifies the version and publication status of the specification.
3. Provides a link to the official source.
4. Does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, certification, or approval of you or your work.
5. Does not impose terms that restrict a recipient from exercising the permissions granted by this license.

Formatting changes required solely to reproduce an otherwise unmodified copy in another medium are permitted, provided they do not alter the content, meaning, organization, status, or notices of the specification.

## 5. Excerpts and Supporting Material

You may quote or reproduce portions of the specification in software, implementation documentation, training material, commentary, reviews, comparisons, and other supporting material, provided that:

1. The use is reasonably necessary to explain, evaluate, or implement the official specification.
2. The source is clearly attributed as described in Section 6.
3. Any changes, annotations, omissions, or additions are clearly identified.
4. The resulting material is not presented as the specification or as a modified, replacement, extended, customized, or competing version of the specification.
5. The use does not imply official status, certification, sponsorship, endorsement, or approval.

This permission does not authorize copying a substantial portion of the specification into a work that functions as a substitute specification.

## 6. Required Attribution

When attribution is required by this license, it must be reasonably prominent and include the following statement or a substantially equivalent statement:

> Based on the Infoconex AI Flywheel Specification, copyright © 2026 Infoconex. The official specification is available at https://github.com/Infoconex/ai-flywheel.

When referring to a specific version, the attribution must identify that version.

Attribution does not imply endorsement, certification, sponsorship, partnership, or approval.

## 7. No Derivative Specifications

Except with prior written permission from the copyright owner, you may not publish, distribute, or represent any modified, adapted, extended, abridged, translated, or derivative version of the specification as:

1. The Infoconex AI Flywheel Specification.
2. An official, approved, certified, or authorized Infoconex AI Flywheel document.
3. A replacement, extension, profile, edition, or customized version of the Infoconex AI Flywheel Specification.
4. A specification using the Infoconex AI Flywheel name, logo, or a confusingly similar designation.

You may propose changes through the official project process. A proposal, issue, pull request, branch, fork, draft, or other contribution does not become part of the official specification unless it is accepted and published as an official version by Infoconex.

Nothing in this license restricts rights that cannot lawfully be restricted, including applicable rights of fair use or fair dealing.

## 8. Official Versions and Status

Only a version expressly designated and published as official by Infoconex is an official Infoconex AI Flywheel Specification.

Repository branches, forks, pull requests, issue discussions, working drafts, translations, adaptations, summaries, and third-party publications are unofficial unless Infoconex expressly designates them otherwise in writing.

Infoconex retains exclusive authority to:

1. Approve and publish official versions.
2. Assign official version numbers and publication status.
3. Define and revise normative requirements.
4. Determine the official meaning of specification terms.
5. Supersede, withdraw, or retire official versions.

## 9. Trademark and Name Rights

This license does not grant ownership of or a general license to use the Infoconex AI Flywheel name, logo, certification marks, or other source-identifying marks.

Subject to the applicable trademark policy, you may make accurate, descriptive references to the official specification and may state that an implementation is based on or implements a particular official version. You may not use the name or marks in a way that is likely to imply ownership, origin, sponsorship, endorsement, certification, partnership, or official status.

All trademark and name rights are expressly reserved.

## 10. Conformance Claims

This license does not by itself grant certification or approval.

Any claim that an implementation conforms to the specification must:

1. Identify the official version being implemented.
2. Be accurate and supported by the evidence required by that version.
3. Clearly state whether the claim is a self-assessment or an assessment authorized by Infoconex.
4. Comply with the applicable conformance and trademark policies.

The terms "official," "approved," "authorized," and "certified," and similar claims of authorization, may not be used without prior written permission.

## 11. Software, Code, and Test Materials

Software, source code, schemas, test suites, templates, and other implementation materials may be provided under separate licenses identified with those materials.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, this license applies to their explanatory specification content but does not grant additional rights to separately licensed materials.

## 12. No Endorsement

Nothing in this license or in any permitted implementation or use may be construed as sponsorship, endorsement, certification, partnership, or approval by Infoconex.

The name of Infoconex may not be used in advertising or publicity without prior written permission, except for required attribution or accurate statements of authorship.

## 13. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SPECIFICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

INFOCONEX DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SPECIFICATION IS COMPLETE, ERROR-FREE, SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR FREE OF THIRD-PARTY RIGHTS.

## 14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INFOCONEX WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR OTHER DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE SPECIFICATION OR ITS IMPLEMENTATION OR USE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

## 15. Termination

The permissions granted by this license terminate automatically if you materially violate its terms and do not cure the violation within 30 days after becoming aware of it.

Upon termination, you must stop exercising the permissions granted by this license. Sections concerning ownership, attribution, trademarks, official status, disclaimers, and liability survive termination.

## 16. Additional Permission

Permission for uses not granted by this license may be requested from Infoconex. Any additional permission must be provided in writing.
